About the museum
The Museo Martino Jasoni is housed in Casa Corchia, a medieval rural building of the 12th century in the hamlet of Corchia, a village of Berceto on the Via Francigena. The house was donated by the Corchia family to the Comune di Berceto at the beginning of the 2000s; after a complete restoration it became the seat of the museum in 2007, which was founded by the municipal administration.
The building has the characteristics of medieval rural architecture: small windows without frames, a two-arched portico supported by a central stone column, a double-pitched slate roof and thick stone walls.
The museum displays around sixty works, including oil paintings and watercolours, by the painter Martino Jasoni, made in the first half of the 20th century. Jasoni also painted the “Ultima cena” on the inner face of the façade of the former church of San Martino in Corchia.
