About the museum

The civic museum of Galzignano Terme gathers the evidence of the peoples who lived in the Colli Euganei area around the 15th century. The archaeology rooms display finds dating between the 15th and 17th centuries, discovered at Pianzio, inside Villa Benacchio.

The visit begins with the room devoted to the history and monuments of Galzignano Terme. On the upper floor a large panel, made with advanced graphic techniques, explains in simple terms the thermal phenomenon of the Euganean Hills for which the area is known. Two large rooms are devoted to archaeology and ornithology, with a collection of more than 150 specimens of the fauna typical of the area.

Explanatory and educational panels and a large model reproducing the most ecologically important habitats of the Colli Euganei accompany visitors along the route, which tells the story of the hill landscape and of how people have lived in it from antiquity to the present day.
