About the museum
Budrio is known worldwide for the ocarina, a terracotta instrument invented in 1853 by the local musician Giuseppe Donati. The museum in Via Garibaldi, named after Franco Ferri, is dedicated to this instrument and, more broadly, to terracotta musical instruments.
The town’s ocarina tradition is also linked to the Gruppo ocarinistico budriese, founded around 1864, which performed in many European capitals, and to the Scuola di ocarina, founded in 1978 in collaboration with the Comune di Budrio.
