Collezione Maserati Umberto Panini

Museum in Modena with the Maserati collection of entrepreneur Umberto Panini: racing and road cars from over a century of production.

Opening hoursAdmission €15

About the museum

The collection began as the private collection of the Modena entrepreneur Umberto Panini and was first opened to the public in its initial form in the early 1990s. In 1996 Panini acquired from the official Maserati museum an original nucleus of 14 cars, which became the heart of the collection. Since mid-2025 the collection has been displayed in renovated spaces in Via dell’Aeroporto, in the hamlet of Marzaglia.

The route illustrates more than a century of production of the Trident brand, from pre-war racing cars such as the 6C/34 and 6CM to the most recent models, including the Alfieri prototype and the MC20. Among the racing cars stand out the 250F, with which Juan Manuel Fangio won Maserati’s only Formula 1 World Championship, the 420M/58 “Eldorado” of 1958, built for the 500 Miglia di Monza, and the Birdcage Tipo 61 and Tipo 63.

The collection also includes road cars such as the A6G of 1954, the 3500 GT Touring, the Mistral, the Ghibli and the Merak, and the extremely rare A6GCS Berlinetta bodied by Pininfarina, of which only four examples were produced.
