About the museum

The Museo SAME, opened in 2008 inside the Treviglio plant, tells the story and evolution of agricultural mechanisation in Italy and Europe through the innovations of the SAME Deutz-Fahr group, today part of SDF. It is part of the Circuito lombardo dei Musei del Design (Lombard Circuit of Design Museums).

The exhibition presents more than twenty tractors, engines and mechanical components, viewed from three perspectives: the machines, technical evolution and advertising communication. The most significant model is the Cassani 40 hp tractor of 1927, one of the world’s first tractors with a diesel engine. Other pieces commemorate the SAME DA 25 of 1952, the first tractor with four-wheel drive, and the brands that joined the group, such as Lamborghini, Hürlimann and Deutz-Fahr.

Next to the museum is the Archivio storico (Historical Archive), with documents, manuals, commercial publications and photographic and advertising material on the life of the company.
