About the museum
The Museo Civico Santeru is a dispersed museum across the territory of the municipality of San Vero Milis, in northern Sinis. It was established by a resolution of the Town Council in 1986 under the name Museo Civico del Sinis settentrionale, and is organised into three sections (archaeological, historical-ethnographic and natural history) and three thematic parks.
The central site occupies the area of the town’s former cemetery: a newly built multi-storey building with exhibition spaces, workshops and storage; the former parish church of San Salvatore, to be used as an exhibition space; a second religious building at the entrance to the area; the ossuary; and a garden where cultural events take place. The museum also includes the S’Urachi monumental archaeological park, the Capo Mannu natural park with its lighthouse, acquired by the municipality in 1986, and Casa Ramsar, home of the natural history and ethnographic section.
Services include guided tours, tactile and scent routes by reservation, a children’s corner, educational workshops, a specialised library and an annual pass giving free entry to events.
