About the museum
The Museum Ladin (MusLa) has two venues devoted to the culture, art, history and nature of the Ladins of the Dolomites. The Ćiastel de Tor, at San Martino in Badia, is the historic and cultural seat. The Ursus ladinicus, at San Cassiano, is devoted to the cave bear and to the geology of the Dolomites.
At the Ćiastel de Tor the permanent exhibition “Storia e cultura ladina” (History and Ladin Culture) traces significant moments in the history and present of the Ladins: their language, art and daily life up to the present day. The route also shows how events outside the region affected life in the valleys, and how the landscape shaped ways of living.
The site has a new building with a café and space for temporary exhibitions. The museum organises guided tours, creative workshops for children and families, and cultural excursions.
