About the museum
The Pinacoteca Rambaldi is a museum in Coldirodi, a locality of the municipality of Sanremo, founded in 1865 thanks to a bequest from the priest Paolo Stefano Rambaldi, who had been rector of a seminary in Florence for ten years. Since July 2006 the collection has been housed in Villa Luca.
The collection comprises about 100 paintings dating from the 15th to the 19th century, including a Madonna and Child attributed to Lorenzo di Credi, a Holy Family by Fra Bartolomeo and works by Salvator Rosa, Jacopo Vignali and Anton Raphael Mengs.
Next to the gallery is a library of more than 5,000 volumes, with incunabula, 16th-century books, rare manuscripts and letters by figures of the Risorgimento such as Silvio Pellico and Alessandro Manzoni.
