About the museum
The Elejas izstāžu zāle (Eleja exhibition hall) opened on 20 October 2022 in the park of Eleja manor, in a place surrounded by tall trees. The building's modern architecture is characterised by sloping, asymmetrical forms that echo the vertical rhythm of the trees around it. From 1 August 2023 the hall has housed the history exhibition “Elejas muižas skatpunkti” (Viewpoints of Eleja Manor), which tells the story of the Eleja manor complex and the people who were important to its development.
At the centre of the exhibition is a restored crown post from the roof structure of the Tea House. Individual areas are devoted to the history of the manor, the history of the park, plants and animals, and the restoration of the Tea House, accompanied by the scent of tea and music. In the small hall, attention is given to the life and work of the park's landscape architect Georgs Hūfalts.
