About the museum
The museum was founded in 2008, and its collection is one of the largest of its kind in Latvia. The exhibition is based on Second World War weapons, equipment, ammunition and uniforms, complemented by household objects, aircraft wreckage and wartime chronicles. One of the most valuable exhibits is the field post correspondence between Oberleutnant Augusts and his beloved Marta, written over five years.
The exhibition is not political and shows both sides of the war equally. The collection is compact and arranged on a single level.
