About the museum
The exhibition in the Amtmanis actors' museum “Zvanītāju bukas” introduces the Amtmanis family's contribution to the history of Latvian theatre and to local cultural traditions. The name of the house comes from the fact that generations of the Amtmanis family were bell-ringers at Valle church, while roe deer often came into the courtyard from the forest.
Visitors can see all the rooms of the house, photographs from theatre productions staged by Alfreds Amtmanis-Briedītis and Teodors Amtmanis, theatre props, the family tree and inherited memorabilia. Changing exhibitions of applied art are shown in the exhibition hall. Every year on 5 August, Alfreds Amtmanis-Briedītis's birthday, festive events take place at the museum.
