About the museum
The Agluonėnai homestead is one of the few surviving examples of wooden architecture of Lithuania Minor: a typical small farmstead whose buildings, yard, greenery and decoration have been preserved as a whole. The museum was set up in the homestead, restored in 1983, and the first post-war threshing-floor theatre began operating in the barn; in 1988 the first Lithuanian threshing-floor theatre festival “Krivūlė” was held here. Since 2007 the homestead has been a branch of the Gargždų krašto muziejus (Gargždai Regional Museum).
During the restoration of 2009–2010 an authentic interior of a Prussian Lithuanian house was recreated: the estuba (the main room with the stove), the kitchen, the porch (priebutis) and the cold room (šaltasis kambarys).
