About the museum
In the small town of Daukšiai, surrounded by the Žuvintas and Amalva marshes, the exhibition of history and runes enthusiast Juozas Šeimys opened on 2 August 2025. Having explored the surroundings since childhood, he gathered finds made in the Daukšiai area: stone axes, flint arrowheads, seals, amulets, jewellery and other objects.
The finds are so numerous that not all fit into the exhibition, so the most interesting were selected: an axe with a deer-antler haft about 7,000 years old, flint tools, Neolithic amulets, and finds with inscriptions which J. Šeimys links to Etruscan and ancient Lithuanian writing and to runes. This is the author's opinion. On the walls are drawings with motifs of historical memory by Jonas Glaveckas, an artist from Daukšiai.
