About the museum
The Molėtų technikos muziejus (Molėtai Technology Museum) is a museum of various transport and technology founded with private funds. It opened on 25 May 2019 in the village of Tumenčizna, in Giedraičiai eldership of Molėtai district, and operates as a public institution.
The museum displays more than 300 passenger cars, lorries, buses, motorcycles, trailers and other vehicles. A separate exhibition presents old radio, sound and television equipment.
Visitors can not only see many of the exhibits but also try them out. Short rides are offered in old cars – VAZ 2106, “Moskvich” 2140 or “Rolls-Royce” (sometimes you are allowed to drive yourself) – as well as on a fire engine or bus. The museum's equipment is rented out for filming: the team has worked with large production teams from Lithuania and abroad.
The museum is open on Saturdays, and visits for larger groups can be arranged on other working days. A professional guide service is offered to groups.
