About the museum
Besøkssenter Færder nasjonalpark is located at Verdens Ende, at the outermost tip of Tjøme, and is organised as an inter-municipal company. The centre's task is to share knowledge about Færder National Park, including about nature above and below the water and about the cultural history of the area.
The centre has exhibitions indoors and outdoors, events and guided tours, self-guided activities and Pelle Strand's children's programme. Schools and kindergartens receive free teaching, either at the centre, out in the field, or in the kindergarten or school. Events are also held at Bolærne, at Karlsvika naturskole and at Krøkle on Hvasser.
From the panorama room Utsikten there is a 360-degree view of Vippefyret and Færder lighthouse, the skerries and the landscape of the national park. The room can be rented for conferences, seminars, anniversaries and weddings. The centre is certified as Miljøfyrtårn (Norwegian environmental certification).
