About the museum
Oddentunet is a protected farmstead in the middle of Narjordet in Os. The main building dates from the early 1800s and is known for its rare interior decorative painting and fine joinery. The façade panelling, the door portal and the window frames have features from Trøndelag town architecture and are reminiscent of Stiftsgården in Trondheim.
The farm lay on the trade route between Dalarna in Sweden and Røros and was an important coaching station (skysstasjon), with overnight accommodation, trade and postal services for travellers and merchants.
In the summer season, visitors can explore the farmstead on historical walks with a guide. Oddentunet belongs to Musea i Nord-Østerdalen.
