About the museum
The Centrum Komiksu i Narracji Interaktywnej operates in the EC1 Łódź – Miasto Kultury complex, in the EC1 Południowy-Wschód building, and is the first institution in Poland devoted to popular culture, especially comics and games. The centre draws on Łódź’s comics traditions, and the city is linked to it, among other things, through the International Comics and Games Festival, which has been held in Łódź for many years.
The centre has two main permanent exhibitions. The first, “Anatomia komiksu” (Anatomy of a Comic), explains the language of comics, the techniques of making them, the role of the scriptwriter and the genres. It also shows sketchbooks and the successive stages of creating comic pages, and visitors are accompanied by characters from series such as Tytus, Romek i A’Tomek and Thorgal. The second part is devoted to video games: a retro zone with arcade machines and older equipment, the Game Lab, which shows the behind-the-scenes of producing modern games, and a VR/AR zone.
Besides the permanent exhibitions, the centre presents temporary exhibitions by Polish and foreign comics creators, game producers and animation studios, runs workshops and classes for schools, and has a café and a comics shop on site. Because of the intense audiovisual stimuli, visits are recommended for children aged 10 and older.

Separate tickets apply to temporary exhibitions; you do not need to buy a ticket for the permanent exhibition. The VR/AR zone is not available to people under 13 or to people with epilepsy or vestibular disorders.

The building entrances are threshold-free, the entrance doors open automatically, and one ticket desk is adapted for wheelchair users. The building has a lift, the corridors and doors are at least 90 cm wide, and the toilets are adapted. Two adult wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at the ticket desks. One part of the terraces on the 2nd floor is reached by a walkway with a step, which is not accessible to wheelchair users. Parking spaces for people with disabilities are currently unavailable because of construction; access to the square is possible after prior contact. People sensitive to audiovisual stimuli or with epilepsy should take care.

Free parking
A free EC1 car park for passenger cars and vans up to 3.5 t is at ul. Dowborczyków 7. When spaces are full, you can use the paid underground car park at Dworzec Łódź Fabryczna.
The entrance to the centre leads from the junction of ul. Tuwima and ul. Dowborczyków, or from the side of the Narodowe Centrum Kultury Filmowej (National Centre of Film Culture).
