About the museum
ms² is a branch of the Museum of Art in Łódź (Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi), opened in autumn 2008 in a revitalised spinning and weaving mill formerly belonging to the factory of Izrael Poznański, at ul. Ogrodowa next to the Manufaktura. The Museum of Art, founded in 1930, has from the outset concentrated on avant-garde and modern art, and the Collection of 20th- and 21st-Century Art has found its place in ms².
The building has about 3,000 m² of space for presenting the collection and about 600 m² for temporary exhibitions. The collections are not shown in chronological order: successive displays, called “working on the collection” (praca nad kolekcją), group works around themes that matter to the contemporary viewer.
The current permanent exhibition “Ways of Seeing. Collection of the Museum of Art in Łódź” opened on 17 October 2025 and will be shown until the end of 2026. On the ground floor there is also a space for temporary exhibitions and a bookshop, and the museum runs workshops for children, young people and adults.

Free admission: Free admission every Friday.
The prices given apply to the permanent exhibition “Ways of Seeing” (regular PLN 20, reduced PLN 10); temporary exhibitions are charged separately. Free admission is available to, among others, holders of MS CLUB cards, museum staff and journalists.

The building is fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. Wheelchair users use the main entrance from the Manufaktura market square side; the second entrance from ul. Ogrodowa (a footbridge to the first floor) is not accessible to them. There is an adapted toilet on the ground floor. Guide dogs and assistance dogs may enter the exhibition rooms.
