About the museum
The Museum of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 in Ossów is a branch of the Museum of the Polish Army in Warsaw. It stands in a place especially closely linked to the Polish-Soviet War: in August 1920 fighting took place around Ossów during one of the decisive phases of the Battle of Warsaw, and soldiers who fell in those battles lie buried in Ossów. A cultural park has been created around the village to commemorate these events.
The new museum building was opened to visitors on 16 August 2025, a day after the anniversary of the victory on the Vistula. The museum aims to present the course of the battle, its political background and the fate of soldiers on both sides of the front.
The permanent exhibition occupies about 1,000 square metres on two floors and combines modern multimedia presentations with original relics. It shows weapons, uniforms and soldiers’ equipment, documents, posters and Polish and Bolshevik propaganda leaflets, as well as memorabilia of the participants in the fighting. The building also houses a shop and catering points, and the museum runs museum lessons with replicas and thematic workshops.
