About the museum
The Muzeum Kamieni i Minerałów in Stronie Śląskie is a private venture of the Kluza family, who have been collecting minerals from Poland and distant parts of the world for many years. The museum is housed in a small building on the main road to the Jaskinia Niedźwiedzia (Bear Cave), and a company shop operates alongside the exhibition.
The exhibition consists of two small rooms. The display cases show aragonite, jasper, citrine, opal, chalcedony, magnesite, dolomite, agates, desert rose and coloured varieties of quartz such as amethyst, rock crystal and morion. A separate group consists of objects made of stone, including a chess set and a clock made of coloured stone.
The shop at the museum sells jewellery and souvenirs made of semi-precious stones, some of them also made on site. Admission to the museum has a token price, and visitors holding a ticket to the Jaskinia Niedźwiedzia or the Kopalnia Uranu (Uranium Mine) pay only a token fee.
