About the museum

The Muzeum Kultu św. Jadwigi Śląskiej (Museum of the Cult of St Hedwig of Silesia) was established in 1964 on the initiative of the Salvatorians who looked after the shrine in Trzebnica, in particular Fr Prof. Antoni Kiełbasa. The institution is housed in the buildings of the shrine next to the Basilica of Saints Hedwig and Bartholomew.

The collections are displayed in several places. In the upper sacristy of the basilica are shown vestments and liturgical vessels, paintings and historic reliquaries. In the Romanesque crypt of St Bartholomew and in the nearby lapidarium, set up in 1988, are Romanesque and Gothic sculptures and stone details that once adorned the church and the monastery. In the Pilgrims' House a temporary exhibition hall is sometimes arranged.

Visits are made with a guide by prior arrangement. Tours are not possible on Sundays and church holidays.
