About the museum
Stefan Wyszyński, later Cardinal and Primate of the Millennium, was born on 3 August 1901 in Zuzela, the son of the local organist. He spent the earliest years of his childhood in this village, and in his memory the parish set aside a reconstructed wooden building of a former elementary school.
The museum opened in 1990. In the left part of the building, the former teacher's service flat, the Wyszyński family's home has been recreated, retaining some of the original furnishings. The right part houses a school room from the early 20th century. The exhibition is supplemented by mementoes of the Primate: photographs, documents and medals.
The museum belongs to the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zuzela, which is a sanctuary of Blessed Stefan Wyszyński. The collections are looked after by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Servants of Mary Immaculate, and visitors are guided by persons appointed by the parish.
