About the museum
The Muzeum Skarb Narodu (Museum “National Treasure”) grew out of a satirical social media profile created by friends from the Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Transportu Dawnego “Nasz Tor” (Association of Lovers of Historic Transport “Nasz Tor”). Over time the collection grew, and the initiative gained formal status as a museum. Robert Brykała is considered the founder, and Cezary Nowicki, Artur Perzanowski, Piotr Adamczyk and Andrzej Grabczyk also worked with him on building the collection.
The collection was first kept in a hall of a Warsaw bakery, and then moved to a hall at Warsaw’s Żerań district. There the museum cooperated with the Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (Passenger Car Factory, FSO) and with the Fundacja Ochrony Zabytków Przemysłu i Techniki (Foundation for the Protection of Industrial and Technical Heritage).
The exhibition is now presented in the historic setting of the Modlin Fortress, at the Czerwona Wieża (Red Tower). Some of the vehicles stand in an open-air exhibition, and some in an exhibition pavilion. Visitors can see Polish classics and the most valuable vehicles from the collection of historic cars, and staff are happy to talk about motoring.
