About the museum
The Museum of Technology and Militaria in Rzeszów was created from the private collections of enthusiasts of old technology, gathered over about fifteen years at car fairs and antiques markets. In November 2010 the city’s mayor lent the museum the buildings of the former Railway School Complex at ul. Kochanowskiego, which had to be renovated and adapted for exhibition purposes.
In December 2011 the Museum of Technology and Militaria Foundation was registered; it uses the exhibition facilities and organises exhibitions and events, including historical reconstructions. The institution does not conduct business activity; the work is done voluntarily by enthusiasts and sympathisers of old technology. The foundation has public benefit status.
The collection includes restored historic cars, military and civilian aircraft, military vehicles including a T-34 tank, uniforms of Polish uniformed services since 1945, everyday objects, sports equipment and radio and television equipment. The museum has about 80 two-wheeled vehicles, including one of the largest collections of MZ ES/1 “Jaskółka” (Swallow) motorcycles in Poland.
