About the museum
The Muzeum Volkswagena operates in Pępowo near Gdańsk, on the grounds of the Galeria Pępowo at ul. Armii Krajowej 50. The institution is private and presents the history of the Volkswagen brand and the vehicles built on its basis. According to the regional tourism portal of Pomerania, visitors can see more than thirty-five exhibits here, while other sources give more than forty.
The collection includes, among others, the iconic Beetles, the T1 minibus nicknamed the “cucumber” (ogórek), and original vehicles of the Kübelwagen type. The exhibition is complemented by a collection of more than eight hundred miniature car models in scales from 1:64 to 1:18. Owners of historic Volkswagens and fans of the brand often come to the gallery.
The museum is part of the Galeria Pępowo, which also offers accommodation in rooms, a tent and camping site, a service for historic cars and car hire for weddings.
