About the museum

The Casa da Memória da Presença Judaica em Castelo Branco honours the history of the Jewish community that lived in the town and contributed greatly to its commercial and economic development, and pays tribute to the people persecuted or killed by the Inquisition.

The route is arranged over four spaces. On the ground floor are the reception and shop and an exhibition on the founding of the Jewish quarter, its rituals, festivities and the Inquisition, with objects associated with the cycle of life.
