About the museum
The Casa do Administrador is a 19th-century building associated with the history of the Fátima Apparitions, because it housed the three seers, Jacinta, Francisco and Lúcia, between 13 and 15 August 1917. It belonged to Artur de Oliveira Santos, administrator of the Ourém municipality.
The building was acquired by the Município de Ourém in 2003 with the aim of setting up a museum space. The Museu Municipal de Ourém was created on 4 July 2009 and is a multi-site museum, comprising the Casa do Administrador and, in the medieval town, the castle and the Paço dos Condes.
In the Casa do Administrador visitors find an interpretation of the territory and heritage of the municipality and an exhibition dedicated to the Pastorinhos de Fátima. The museum belongs to the Rede Portuguesa de Museus (Portuguese Museum Network).
