About the museum
The Centro de Arte e Cultura opened in 2013 in the former Palácio da Inquisição of Évora, a building classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1950. The opening was part of a project by the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida to rehabilitate its heritage in the historic centre of the city.
It is a contemporary art space with a multidisciplinary programme that includes exhibitions, performance projects and educational activities. It is part of the Rede Portuguesa de Arte Contemporânea (Portuguese Contemporary Art Network).
The Foundation's mediation and education offer includes film screenings for schools, the Atividário activity series and holiday workshops.
