About the museum

The Museu Arqueológico e Etnográfico Manuel Vicente Guerreiro is located in Santa Clara-a-Nova, in the municipality of Almodôvar. The municipality took over its management through an agreement with the Casa da Cultura de Santa Clara-a-Nova and includes it in the Rede de Museus de Almodôvar (Almodôvar Museum Network), alongside the Museu Severo Portela and the Museu da Escrita do Sudoeste.

The ethnographic section brings together objects and tools illustrating life on the Alentejo plain and hills, the traditions, crafts and rural activities of the recent past. One room is dedicated to archaeology and shows part of the finds from the Estação Arqueológica das Mesas do Castelinho (Mesas do Castelinho Archaeological Station).
