About the museum
The Museu Municipal de Vidigueira is housed in the former primary school building, on Praça Vasco da Gama, in the centre of the town. It belongs to the Vidigueira Municipality, in the district of Beja.
The space has two distinct nuclei. The first covers the history of primary education in the municipality, recalling school life in earlier times. The second shows the economic picture of the municipality and the life of its population through socio-economic activities, from the 1930s onwards.
