About the museum
Can Marroig is a former rural estate on the island of Formentera, located within the Parc Natural de ses Salines d'Eivissa i Formentera. One of the restored buildings on the estate now houses the park's visitor and interpretation centre.
The centre's exhibition combines an interactive module, a scent box and an audiovisual presentation to introduce the park's natural and cultural values: the posidonia meadows, the salt pans and the richness of marine life. It is especially recommended for family visits.
The site can only be reached on foot or by bicycle. Vehicles are left in the car park of the picnic area, from where a circular route of about 2.6 km starts. The natural park's environmental education team organises free guided visits, with advance registration, which include the centre and a short itinerary around the surroundings.
