The museum traces the life of the explorer through objects, furniture, documents and reconstructions.
The display is spread across two floors. On the ground floor the house where Pizarro spent his childhood has been recreated, and examples are shown of the cultural exchange that followed the discovery of America. The upper floor is devoted to the life and work of Francisco Pizarro.
