About the museum
The Centro de Recepción e Interpretación del Parque Natural de Ponga is in San Juan de Beleño (San Xuan de Beleño), in the municipality of Ponga. It is part of the Red Natural de Asturias network and presents the natural and cultural values of the Ponga Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve, an area of high ecological value.
The permanent exhibition focuses on the forest as an ecosystem and takes visitors on a journey through the life of the municipality: past and present of Ponga, nature, fauna, buildings, people, traditions, food and crafts. The content is presented in an illustrative and engaging way.
At the centre, visitors can obtain information and documentation on hiking routes, viewpoints, maps and park regulations. Free guided visits are offered to formal-education groups of all levels. As a complement, the centre itself recommends the paseo de Les Bedules, an accessible path that ends at a viewpoint towards the highest peaks of the park.
