About the museum

The reception and interpretation centre is in La Pola, the municipal capital of Somiedo and the geographical centre of the natural park, and is the recommended starting point for getting to know the protected area.

Its audiovisual exhibition, with numerous interactive elements, brings together the most relevant information about the territory: relief, geology, vegetation, fauna and ethnographic heritage. Staff also provide information on hiking routes that are open to walkers and on park regulations, and point visitors to other nearby exhibitions, such as the Museo Etnográfico de La Pola de Somiedo and the ethnographic house museums of Veigas.
