About the museum

The Visitor Centre is the gateway to the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park in San Fernando. It stands beside Camposoto beach, in a building of 1,044 square metres on a plot of just over 2,000 square metres, and was promoted by the Junta de Andalucía. Several trails lead from it to the caños (tidal channels), the marshes and the beach.

Inside, the permanent exhibition “Una historia de agua y fango” is shown, with models, panels and interactive resources that explain the values of this natural area, as well as the park’s flora and fauna. Birds can be observed in their habitat from the viewing point on the upper floor. The centre also has an audiovisual room with capacity for 90 people, an accessible bird observatory and an outdoor area with simulators of tidal mills, salt pans, marshes and dunes.

The centre organises guided routes, environmental awareness workshops and visits for school groups. The Junta de Andalucía has tendered improvement works on the building, including the pergola, air conditioning and the reception.
