About the museum

The Centro de Visitantes del Embalse del Ebro is in Corconte, in the municipality of Campoo de Yuso, on the northern shore of the Ebro reservoir and near the spa of the same name. It belongs to the network of visitor centres of the Government of Cantabria, whose activity is coordinated by the Centro de Investigación del Medio Ambiente (CIMA).

The exhibition is devoted to the water cycle: it explains why water is important, how it is used and distributed in Cantabria, and the features of the reservoir. It also tells how the reservoir was formed and how it affected local residents, and offers tips on saving water.

The visit can be guided or self-guided. Throughout the year the centre has run environmental education workshops and free field outings open to all audiences.

Getting there & parking

Reached via the N-623 (Santander–Burgos) or the A-67 (Santander–Palencia), then by the CA-171 road, which skirts the northern shore of the reservoir as far as Corconte. The centre is next to the Corconte spa.
