About the museum
The Los Centenales visitor centre is one of the gateways to the Doñana Natural Area from the municipality of Hinojos, next to the boundary with Almonte. It is run by the Doñana Natural Area of the Junta de Andalucía and is on the A-484 road between Hinojos and Almonte.
The building, of modern design, blends into the landscape and has large windows that give views of the surroundings. Inside, the exhibition shows the customs and way of life of Hinojos and the park’s main ecosystems, the marshland (marisma) and the pine forest, through reproductions, explanatory panels, replicas, a video corridor and a recreation of night-time sounds.
Outside there is a small artificial lake with native fish, a scale model of a traditional marshland hut and an urban park with paths, shaded areas and children’s play areas. Admission to the Doñana visitor centres is free.
