About the museum
The museum opened in May 2002 under the name Museo del Hormigón. It was open to the public for two years, then remained closed, with occasional openings, until it resumed stable operation from April to November at weekends.
The brutalist building follows the same artistic approach as the sculptor and presents itself as a sculpture that contains many sculptures. The museum is privately owned by the artist and describes itself as the only one in the world dedicated to concrete as a sculptural material.
The collection brings together more than 170 concrete works made over some thirty years, from the 1960s to the late 1990s. Three rooms follow a chronological route, from the first expressionist works to the minimalist simplification of the latest series.
