About the museum
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Hispano-Mexicano in Alagón (Zaragoza) has its origins in the contact that the town council established at the end of 1989 with Luis Marín Bosqued, an Aragonese painter who lived in exile in Mexico after the Civil War, until the seventies.
The museum occupies the basement floor of the Casa de Cultura, an 18th-century building that was a college of the Society of Jesus. It brings together more than one hundred pieces of painting and sculpture by some fifty artists, organised into four sections: Mexican painters, Aragonese painters, Spanish painters in Mexico and the collection of Luis Marín Bosqued.
