About the museum

Orihuela's Holy Week, declared of International Tourist Interest, has its own museum, which preserves a large part of the thrones that process through the city's streets.

Besides the thrones, the visit shows the insignia, banners and vestments of the various cofradías, hermandades and mayordomías (religious associations), so that visitors can see up close a heritage that is usually seen only in the street during the processions. The museum also serves as a venue for some cultural events and concerts linked to the celebration.

Highlights

  • Most of the thrones that are carried in procession in Orihuela
  • Insignia, banners and vestments of brotherhoods and mayordomías
  • Heritage of a Holy Week of International Tourist Interest
  • Venue for concerts and cultural events linked to Holy Week

Permanent exhibition

  • Tronos y enseres de la Semana Santa de Orihuela – Permanent exhibition with most of the city's processional thrones, along with the insignia, banners and vestments of the brotherhoods.
