About the museum
The Museo de los Cuentos y la Ciencia is a project created and directed by the artist Rosana Largo Rodríguez, who opened it in May 2022 in the church of San Martín in Paredes de Nava. It is promoted by the town council with the support of the Diputación de Palencia, and the museum itself describes it as a space devoted to fantasy and imagination.
The exhibition goes through well-known tales such as The Little Prince, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Gulliver’s Travels, Snow White, Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Each story is a starting point for talking about science and invention: Cinderella is linked to Josephine Cochrane, the inventor of the dishwasher, and The Chocolate House (la casita de chocolate) to the inventor of chocolate chip cookies.
The museum also offers the “Rosana Largo Experience”, an activity of about two hours designed for groups, and it admits well-behaved dogs.
