About the museum

The museum displays a collection of more than seventy oil paintings that are replicas of as many works by El Greco. They were painted by the Yecla artist Juan Albert Roses, who for about twenty years visited the places where the originals are kept in order to reproduce them as faithfully as possible.

The collection is shown on the second floor of the Casa Municipal de Cultura, housed in the Palacio de los Ortega, an 18th-century civil building that retains much of its original structure. The same building houses the Museo Arqueológico Municipal Cayetano de Mergelina, which manages the tickets and information for ReGreco.

The rooms are grouped by theme: the Virgin Mary, the Passion of Christ, the saints and the portraits. According to the website of the Museo Arqueológico, the ReGreco exhibition is currently listed as closed for works.
