About the museum
The Museo del Carnaval de Águilas opened on 10 August 2021 on the first floor of the Casa de Cultura Francisco Rabal, on Plaza de Asunción Balaguer. It was created to make the city’s great festival, which fills the streets of Águilas every winter, known throughout the year.
The exhibition shows costumes from recent parades, including the award-winning ones, and is renewed every year with new designs. It is complemented by references to traditional elements of the festival, such as the murgas (carnival singing groups) and the night carnival, and by an audiovisual room where a large float is displayed and a video of the previous year’s parade is screened.
