About the museum
The Museo del Licor Manuel Acha, the first of its kind in the Basque Country, occupies the first floor of the Acha distillery in Amurrio. The family business dates back to 1831, settled in Amurrio in 1881 and still keeps recipes dating from 1883.
The route shows how liqueurs were traditionally made: early casks and distillation equipment, account books, bottles and advertising material from the early 20th century. One section commemorates the Karpy cycling team, which was professional in the 1960s and 1970s, with jerseys and caps.
