About the museum

The Museo del Mojo y del Licor de Café is in El Charco, the historic centre of Tazacorte, right next to the Museo del Plátano. It was created to make known two products with a long local tradition: mojo, the typical sauce of Canarian cuisine, and coffee liqueur, which is part of the gastronomic tradition of La Palma. The building follows the Canarian architecture of the area.

The exhibition includes a room with the ingredients needed to prepare mojo palmero and a display of the tools and utensils once used to make it, as well as a space dedicated to coffee liqueur. The museum is part of the cultural offer of Tazacorte town council, which presents it together with the Museo del Plátano as virtual museums and as places to visit. The building is also used for craft activities: between 21 October and 23 November 2026 it will host a wicker basketry workshop organised by the Craft service of the Cabildo de La Palma.
