About the museum
The museum occupies an 18th-century rural manor house that belonged to large agricultural landowners of the Camp de Túria. In addition to the living quarters, the building preserves a cellar with a press and barrels, an olive press with its machinery, a mill, a stable, an attic and the shop where the oil and wine produced on the estate were sold.
The museum project was drafted and carried out by the Museu Valencià d'Etnologia together with the town council of La Pobla de Vallbona, and both museums continue to collaborate through exchanges of exhibitions, loans of pieces and advice. Part of the house recreates the rooms of the owners, who lived there temporarily, and those of a second family.
The rooms reproduce the atmosphere of a large Valencian farming estate, with period furniture, everyday utensils and tools for field work and the transport of goods. The museum runs guided and theatrical visits, exhibitions, children's workshops and excursions to archaeological sites and natural areas of the municipality.
