About the museum
The Lladró Museum is part of the Ciudad de la Porcelana, the complex of workshops of the Lladró porcelain firm in Tavernes Blanques, about fifteen minutes from the centre of Valencia. The company was founded by the brothers Juan, José and Vicente Lladró Dolz, who began working in porcelain in 1953 in their house in Almàssera.
The museum has two permanent exhibitions: one of historical porcelain, with pieces made between the 1950s and the 1990s that are no longer in the catalogue, and another of painted porcelain. Visits include a tour of the workshops, where craftspeople show how the pieces are made by hand, and a visit to the museum and the boutique, which displays the current collections.
