About the museum
The Museo Pedagógico de Aragón has as its mission to conserve, study, exhibit and disseminate the educational heritage of Aragon. It presents itself as a living museum, open to society, and at the same time as a centre for research and documentation on education past and present. It also organises conferences, courses and seminars with other institutions.
Its holdings number some 20,000 items, of which the permanent exhibition displays around 2,000: maps, notebooks, school furniture, needlework and photographs. The route spreads over two floors and reproduces four classrooms from different periods, including an early 20th-century classroom, one from the Second Republic and one from the National-Catholic period.
The rooms cover topics such as childhood, the teaching profession, school notebooks, handwriting, separate education for boys and girls, printing in the classroom, the metric decimal system and technology in the classroom. One space is dedicated to the teacher, artist and activist Ramón Acín. The museum closed to the public for renovation on 20 February 2026, until further notice.
