About the museum
The museum occupies part of the Casa de la Senyoreta, an 18th-century townhouse on the Calle Santísimo Cristo. The name recalls Amparitos, a local benefactor who funded civil and religious works in the municipality. The exhibition hall covers about 255 m².
The display traces the history of Calp chronologically through some thirty panels and display cases, from the Morelló mill to the 19th century. The oldest pieces come from the Cosentari site, dating to the Bronze Age, and from the northern slope of the Peñón de Ifach, from the Iberian period. Special attention is given to the Roman site of Baños de la Reina and to the medieval La Pobla of Ifach.
The objects on show include a basilisk buckle and an Islamic amulet. The route is completed by information panels and a video on the history of the town.
