About the museum
The museum occupies the former Astillero Orozco, one of the most important companies in the Valencian Community in the 1960s, and aims to show the historical relationship of Altea's inhabitants with the sea, both in how they used it and in how they came to know it.
The collection brings together old photographs of Altea and its shipyards, restored boats, naval rigging and fishing gear such as the palangre (longline) and the trasmallo (trammel net). A room of naval models completes the route, including a model of the Titanic.
